Congress Woman Claudia Tenney
Claudia Tenney spoke at the opening assembly at the 81st New York Boys’ State. As a lawyer, publisher, commentator, mother of a Marine, as well as politician who was elected in 2010 to represent the 101st Assembly District of the New York Assembly and currently is the congresswoman for New York’s 22nd congressional district, she was able to impart a great deal of information to the young leaders of Boys’ State. She emphasized the importance of teamwork and being a unit in order to achieve an ultimate goal. As she discussed this topic, Mrs. Tenney brought up how Abraham Lincoln was a great president who portrayed teamwork and unity. Even during a time of separation, President Lincoln was able to overcome and unite the nation. This was a terrific speech to start off the program which was able to get these young men into the correct mindset of teamwork for the rest of the week.
