The Nationalist and Federalist Parties held their second State Party Convention Tuesday, June 26 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. The Boys’ States citizens nominated their peers for the positions of State Comptroller, Attorney General, and seven Judges of Court of Appeals.
The State Comptroller acts as custodian of all funds and general equipment belonging to the Government of The American Legion Boys’ State of New York, Inc.
The Attorney General advises all State officials and agencies, represents Boys’ State in all suits or legal actions to which the State is party, assists, upon request, or upon orders of the Governor, any County Attorneys with prosecution of citizens charged with violations of the laws of the State, and acts as assistant to the Office Manager when routine matters of discipline are not brought before the courts.
The seven Judges of Court of Appeals hear any civil criminal case of the felony class, and appoints grand juries and receives indictments.
For the Nationalist Party, Jacob Camiel #747 was nominated to run for State Comptroller, John Lynch #801 was nominated to run for Attorney General, and Christopher Decker #87, Trent Biscone #157, Cameron Brimhall #263, Jack Byrne #353, Jacob Sigerson #719, Kyle Smith #941, and Connor Starr #1075 were all nominated to run for the position of Judge of Court of Appeals.
For the Federalist Party, Zachary Kowalewski #782 was nominated to run for State Comptroller, Saipranav Golkonda #420 was nominated to run for Attorney General, and Mark Thomas #204, Nathan Wylupski #286, Jack Keane #396, John Fink #502, Agustin Gomez-Garachana #600, Antonio Zaccaria #954, Richard Lee #1082 were all nominated to run for the position of Judge of Court of Appeals.
